“During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.  When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. ‘It’s a ghost,’ they said and cried out in fear.  But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage!  It is I.  Don’t be afraid.’ ‘Lord if it is you,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’ ‘Come,’ he said.” Matthew 14:25-29

Likely, our culture will only continue to decline even more rapidly. Perversion, immorality, fear, and insecurity growing like a cancer as far as the eye can see.  I challenge you to read back through His gospel.  Pay attention to the company He kept and the level of immoral circumstances He sought out.  These are the very waves our Savior was drawn to.

Something beautiful occurs to me this very moment…He has set my feet.  He has set your feet on the edge of the largest, ugliest, filthiest, perverse sea in the history of mankind.  Perversion, immorality, insecurity, confusion, and fear abound and not only splash up around our ankles but can soak us straight through.  And, He walks.  Step by step right out into the middle of it.  Because there are those He loves drowning in it.  He doesn’t say to us, “Run home into the safety of your isolation.”

Instead He says…”Take courage…come.”

My love,
