In my last post, I told you that on March 9th, CareNet Pregnancy Centers & Mentoring Programs had the great privilege of hosting over 1,000 people in our community for our annual CareNet Banquet.  During the evening we rejoiced in what God has been doing through CareNet.  Below, is a continuation…

In the story of Nehemiah it tells us that prayed to the Lord saying,

“We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave to your servant Moses.” Nehemiah 1:7

“Remember the instructions you gave to your servant, Moses…but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.” Nehemiah 1:9

So, Nehemiah goes before King Artaxerxes and not only does the King grant Nehemiah’s request to go and rebuild the wall around Jerusalem, but grants Nehemiah the resources he will need to see it through.

So, off he goes and Nehemiah sets out one night to examine the walls and get an understanding of the level of ruin he is actually facing.   He returns to the people of God after surveying the land…

“Then I said to them, you see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace. I also told them about the gracious hand of my God upon me and what the king had said to me.” Nehemiah 2:17

“They replied, “Let us start rebuilding,” So they began this good work.” Nehemiah 2:18
